Meet Melanie

Melanie Simmons is a Treasury Practitioner, Financial Literacy Advocate and Former Co-Chair for The Treasury Management Association of Chicago.  Shortly after receiving her bachelor's degree in Finance, Melanie has executed Accounting and Finance Operations for a multitude of organizations such as Delaware North Companies, Aramark Sports & Entertainment, and Legends Hospitality.  During her tenure at Delaware North Companies and Aramark Sports & Entertainment, Melanie held the position as Assistant to the Controller where she was given the opportunity to partner with and support The Chicago Bears Organization and The Chicago Park District by performing financial and budget analysis.  During her summers, Melanie contributes her expertise to Legends Hospitality in Partnership with Live Nation to perform Accounting and Cash Management support for concerts and music festivals.

Currently, Melanie leads Treasury Operations at Nitel, a next generation technology services provider headquartered in Chicago.  She's been successful at protecting Nitel’s assets by providing risk management strategies, financial analysis and managing working capital.  Outside of Melanie’s professional life, she’s a lover of Financial Literacy. She’s the creator of a Financial Literacy Brand and Series called Money by Mel where Melanie discusses how our economy affects us financially and provides resources and tips to protect and manage our finances.
