Meet Melanie

Melanie (Mel) Stone is a Finance Professional who specializes in Treasury, Accounts Payable, and Expense Management with a strong passion for Financial Literacy. She’s a proud former Co-Chair for The Treasury Management Association of Chicago where she spent time managing logistics and hosting Member and Board events.  Shortly after receiving her bachelor's degree in Finance, Melanie has transformed the way organizations handle accounts payable, optimize cash flow, and approach financial literacy for team members. Known for her unwavering dedication to precision and her innovative problem-solving skills, Mel has a proven track record of streamlining operations and driving measurable results at large organizations such as Delaware North Companies, Aramark Sports & Entertainment, Legends Hospitality (working in partnership with Live Nation) and currently leading AP Operations at a Revolutionary Food and Beverage Tech Start-up.  During her tenure at Delaware North Companies and Aramark Sports & Entertainment, Melanie held the position of Assistant to the Controller where she was given the opportunity to partner with and support The Chicago Bears Organization and The Chicago Park District by performing financial and budget analysis.  During her summers, Melanie has contributed her expertise to Legends Hospitality to provide Accounting and Cash Management support for concerts and music festivals.

Throughout her career, Mel has led initiatives that not only improved efficiency but also fostered financial confidence within her teams and communities. She takes pride in turning complex financial challenges into simple, actionable solutions, ensuring that individuals and businesses alike can achieve sustainable growth. Beyond her technical skills, Mel is passionate about fostering financial literacy. She has designed and led workshops to demystify complex financial concepts, equipping individuals and teams with the knowledge to make more informed decisions. A natural leader with a results-driven approach, Mel combines technical precision with a human-centered perspective. She believes that finance isn’t just about numbers— it’s about creating stability, driving growth, and unlocking potential. Inspired by her late mother’s strength and resilience, Mel has a deep-rooted commitment to financial literacy and helping others navigate their financial journeys with clarity and confidence. She’s the creator of a Financial Literacy Brand and Series called Money by Mel where she discusses how our economy affects us financially and provides resources and tips to protect and manage our finances.
